There’s a time and a place for happy hour. That time is this afternoon, and the place is one of these Highlands happy hour hotspots! Below, we have the definitive guide to finding the best happy hours in the neighborhood.
Every bar and restaurant on this list comes highly recommended, so you really can’t go wrong with any of them. However, there are a few subtle differences, which we’ll talk about below!
Make time for Postino LoHi before 5 pm
Upon first glance, Postino LoHi looks like an upscale modern restaurant. They serve curated bruschetta boards on wood blocks, and the interior decor has clean lines and geometric shapes. The happy hour, however, is a little more laid back.
You can get a glasses of wine or pitchers of beer for $5 during happy hour, which goes until 5 pm every day. Those bruschetta boards that we mentioned earlier are part of the happy hour menu as well. They might look fancy, but they’re totally affordable!
Be the early bird that gets the worm at Bremen’s Wine and Tap in The Highlands
The happy hour at Breman’s is fairly straightforward, but it rewards those that can get off work early. Drinks are $2 at 2 pm, $3 at 3 pm, $4 at 4 pm, $5 at 5 pm and $6 at 6 pm. The earlier you go, the less you spend!
This Highlands happy hour features special pricing on appetizer’s too, so be sure to snag a basket of peel-your-own shrimp or fresh mussels — both of which come with special house-made sauces. Braman’s is a roomy, clean restaurant with a big patio, so give it a shot when the sunny weather comes back around.
Do the ultimate foodie happy hour at Bar Dough Denver
Italian pizza bar happy hour, coming right up! Check out Bar Dough any day from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, when bar snacks and appetizers are $4-5, beer is $4 and wine is $6. If your happy hour needs to turn into dinner and drinks, don’t panic; Bar Dough has $5 margherita pizzas that are big enough for two.
Sample wine and cheese at The Truffle Table Denver
If you click the link above, you’ll be directed to this restaurant’s website. Once you’re there, the first thing you’ll notice is the phrase, “Denver Cheese Bar.” That’s right folks, this the go-to spot for a charcuterie lovers. They’ve got plenty of different charcuterie boards on the happy hour menu, which also includes $5 glasses of wine.
The Truffle Table happy hour goes from 4 pm to 6 pm Tuesday through Friday, giving you just enough time to enjoy some wine and cheese after work!
Have a low key Highlands happy hour at Occidental Denver
The first four restaurants on this list are a little upscale, but Occidental is not a part of that trend. This little dive bar/lounge is where locals go for a decidedly more laid back happy hour. If you’re hoping to avoid an expensive happy hour, Occidental is your place. Happy Hour includes $4 wine, $5 Moscow mules and $1 off all draught beer.
Highlands residents love Occidental because it has a gritty feel to it. As one Yelp reviewer put it, “there’s hockey on the TV and punk rock on the speakers.” If that sounds like your kind of happy hour, check out Occidental from 4 pm to 6 pm M-F, 11 am - 6 pm Saturday, and all day Sunday!
Enjoy everything at Root Down Denver
If small plates are your thing, Root Down might be your new favorite spot. During happy hour, you can get almost anything on the menu for $4 or $5, and there are a whole lot of things on the Root Down menu. We recommend the lamb burger, the gnocchi and the brisket tacos. Honestly, it’s all good.
Nothing washes away the workday like a Highlands happy hour, so come on down next time you get a group of friends together. While you’re here, feel free to come take a look at the new luxury apartment community in the neighborhood — Centric LoHi! We’ve got people on hand ready to give tours, or you can go ahead and schedule one online. Have a happy happy hour!
